If your antenna has a preamp it could be going bad. You could try replacing it. It could also be intermittent interference from your neighbors. Any new electronics in the neighborhood? Like solar panels or LED lights? That can cause problems. I recently lost 3 stations that I used to get. They suddenly vanished. In my case, I think the tower that broadcasted those stations decreased its signal.

Netgear CM500 Cable Modem Review and Setup
Recently my Cisco cable modem stopped working. To save money I always purchased my own cable modem as not to get charged for a monthly rental from my cable company. The lights on the front of the modem were not lighting up correctly. It was also making a strange high-pitched sound. I tried powering it up a few times but still had the same problem.
