Improve Signal Interference With The Channel Master LTE Filter

Unfortunately, signal interference has become more common with people using an over the air antenna. The popularity of smartphones has increased the amount of wireless interference. Cell towers are operating very close to OTA signal frequencies. This can cause pixelation and dropped signals to your OTA television signal. One way to eliminate this problem is to add a Channel Master LTE Filter. An LTE filter will improve your OTA signal by filtering out LTE, 5G, 4G, and 3G mobile interference. The installation is as simple as screwing in the filter between your antenna and the amplifier.

Antenna Interference

Before you add an LTE filter make sure you know where the interference is coming from. In many cases, it can be attributed to electromagnetic interference. Antenna interference can also be caused by many household appliances like a blender, fan, laptop computer, or LED lights. For more information see our article on how to identify OTA antenna interference.

Channel Master LTE Filter

If you are experiencing weak signals, pixelation, or channel loss an LTE filter can help improve your antenna signal. The Channel Master LTE Filter is designed to remove cell tower and cell phone interference. To install just screw the filter between the antenna and your amplifier or TV.

Features and Benefits

  • Blocks interference from 3G/4G/5G smartphones and transmitters
  • Minimal setup is required
  • Professional-grade construction and quality
  • Improves poor picture quality on TV antenna channels affected by LTE interference

Channel Master Amplify Adjustable Gain Preamplifier

Another option is to add an adjustable gain amplifier with a built-in LTE filter. This can be helpful if you do not have an existing amplifier or want to upgrade to a more effective one. The Channel Master Amplify Adjustable Gain Preamplifier offers an adjustable gain allowing for better control of how much amplification gets passed to the TV tuner. This can help to decrease over-amplification to the TV tuner which can cause channel loss due to signal overload.

Conclusion

Since the FCC repack, many frequencies have been moved around and are now overlapping which can cause signal issues. If you are having signal interference try adding an LTE filter. It can help to improve your OTA antenna reception.

  1. While virtually every chinese and foreign made antenna and preamp CLAIMS to have a built in LTE filter, 95% of them are designed for FOREIGN markets so they only filter above 790Mhz which makes them useless in the US where cellular towers are now saturating the 700Mhz and now600Mhz bands.
The Channel Master LTE filter is the only one that actually filters out EVERYTHING above tv channel 36 so it’s the only one to use

  2. We’re perplexed and welcome any feedback. We have radiant barrier in our attic, so we had our antenna installed on the second story roof. It’s completely at random, but we get mild to horrible pixelation on certain channels. Have tried two different boosters, without luck. We do have a cell tower 2 doors down. Is it that, or the radiant barrier? Who knows what’s causing it. Do we try raising the antenna higher (putting more distance away from the radiant barrier)? If that doesn’t work do we try the LTE filter? If that doesn’t work, any other thoughts?

    • It could be any of those things. You may have to try each one to see if it improves your signal. If you have cell towers that close. That could be the culprit. A LTE filter should help.
